Great Little Clock (2010-07-25) : 5/5
I purchased this clock becase I wanted to replace my old alarm clock and have something I could charge my iPhone with. So far I have loved it. I listen to my playlists every night with the sleep function. This is great to help me fall asleep. I also like the dual alarms. It is also small and compact unlike other iPhone alarms.
Very Bright (2010-07-13) : 4/5
Pros: Great reception and sound. Nice and compact w/ an alarm that won't scare you out of the depths of your slumber.
Cons: If you have trouble with insomnia, I don't think the intensely bright clock face will help any --it lights up the whole room.
Nice, compact design with everything I wanted. (2010-06-28) : 4/5
I bought this to replace a perfectly functioning clock radio because I wanted one with an iPhone dock. More specifically, I wanted one that had a dock I could use that didn't require me to remove the case from my phone. I was also looking for something that was on the smaller side because my nightstand is not that large.
This product filled all those needs. The dock can be hidden in the base if you want to reduce the size and don't need it, but it's very easy to pop out when you want it. I can use the dock with my case if I don't use any of the adapters that come with the dock. It's not a "perfect" fit (there's some wiggle room and it's not always easy to match up the dock pins with the phone in the dark), but once connected it holds in place and works fine.
Sound quality is as good as expected. It's not a hi-fi system, but it works fine for playing music in my bedroom. The placement of the buttons is pretty good, but I wish there was a little more weight to the unit so it wouldn't slide when i pushed a side button. Nothing some extra rubber feet couldn't fix.
The ONLY reason I'm knocking of 1 star is because the dock slides in and out TOO easily. It clicks in place when closed, but there isn't a locked open position, so that when I'm fumbling to put the phone in the dock, the tray keeps sliding in and out. The one other surprise was that it didn't include the button battery needed for clock backup. Pretty minor in the long run I suppose, and otherwise it's a great product.
Does what it's built to do (2010-06-09) : 4/5
The Sony ICF_C7IP works great - sounds fine to wake me up - very functional. I'm not using it to replace a stereo system. I just wanted something to charge my iPod touch while I sleep and this works fine. The only issue is that you can't pick up the thing without activating one or more buttons. There are buttons covering every surface so it's a little tricky if you are trying to move it or pick it up to dust.
Other than that, I'd buy it again. No problems so far.
Great Alarm (2010-05-28) : 5/5
This was for my 11 yr. old daughter who owns an iTouch. We wanted her to be able to wake up to her music on the iTouch rather than the questionable topics they have on radio in the morning. It is great, and has served it's purpose. It has also been great for her to be able to charge her iTouch. Before she had to plug it into my computer. So now I don't see the iTouch until it needs some downloading. The sound quality is great. This is not a stereo, so don't expect to be able to blast it like a stereo. What is neat is that you can also set the volume for each alarm. My daughter says she loves the alarm. She likes how easy it is to turn off in the morning and also she loves the remote.
