This is great stuff; it does what it claims to do. My Rowenta iron looks like brand new and I have to believe this will last just about forever because you don't need to use much of it.

I got one of these kits when I bought my Rowenta iron. It worked great to get the "gunk" off the soleplate until I ran out of cleaner about 2 years later. I bought another brand, thinking it would be similar. Wrong! The other brand never did get my soleplate entirely clean. So, I ordered another Rowenta kit. In one application, my soleplate was nice and shiny. This is the only brand I will buy going forward.

I think I put the kit to the ultimate test. I thought my husband had destroyed my Bernina Bernette sewing iron. There was a thick brown glob of melted whatever covering about a third of the soleplate. It took about a half an hour and I used about half the tube of cleaner, but the soleplate is clean. This really works - I recommend it. I would use it as a maintenance cleaner though, rather than waiting for the plate to have a built up mess. Warning - the wax in the cleaner smokes, so if you have a big job like mine you should do it near a window, fan, or outside.

The Rowenta soleplate cleaning kit works. It removes built-up grime and starch from the soleplate of your iron. However, I have used other products (less expensive) in the past and they work just as well. In this kit they provide you with cleaning towels, etc. I found that I can save money on the less expensive products without having to purchase their towels--I just use my own rags at home! Poof--I just saved myself about $7.00.
