I loved my little moleskine notebook, but I really love this larger size. I wish the top would flip back however. It does not.

A colleague of mine has used these for years, and I've always envied him. I bought these to replace the "green brain" soft-cover pocket notebooks of the US Gov't-issue variety.
These are heaps better - because:
- the hard cover allows you to write on both sides of both pages without having a hard surface available.
- the elastic band allows you to find your place instantly or keep the book closed when you throw it in a pocket/bag/etc.
My only complaint is the price - at $9-$10 a pop, they're not cheap for what will essentially be a throw-away notebook after I've used it. Having said that, the price isn't OUTRAGEOUS, and so the quality/features will likely continue to outweigh the price and I'll keep buying them!

There's something that just feels right about holding this type of notebook. They are excellently bound, have tons of paper of great quality and the bookmark and pocket are surprisingly useful! The only reason I gave it a 4 is because I bought a couple of Piccadilly moleskine knockoffs from Borders. For $5 a pop, I got the exact same thing (except I got standard, not reporter style) and the paper is a little bit thicker which is great for my fountain pens!
I am very glad that Moleskine brought such notebooks back into popularity because they are truly a gem!

This notebook is always in my pocket.
Over here electronics (pda's) just don't hold up long.
If you need to keep info you write it down.
The paper quality is excellent and I don't have to use 100mph tape to keep the cover from comming off.
The pocket in the back is great for keeping info given to you that you don't have time to write down until later.
The best notebooks around (2008-11-13) : 5/5
moleskine is VERY expensive but VERY good quality. I carry my notepad everywhere, sometimes in my pant's back pocket and it is in great shape. The paper quality is good and it would definitely surpass your expectations. I personally prefer the Moleskine sketchbook (lavander tag) because the paper is 4 times thicker. You can write on it with ANY kind of pen/ink and it will not bleed !
It is definitely worth the price
